TrimUI Brick Hammer

About the TrimUI Brick Hammer

The TrimUI Brick Hammer takes the well-liked vertical TrimUI Brick and rebuilds its shell from CNC-machined aluminium, giving it a properly premium, cool-to-the-touch feel. Under that metal is the same Allwinner A133P quad-core chip with a PowerVR GE8300 GPU, 1GB of RAM and a crisp 3.2-inch 1024x768 IPS screen, so this is a device aimed squarely at the classic and early-3D era rather than heavier modern systems.

In practice that means everything from the 8-bit and 16-bit generations through to the PlayStation 1 runs comfortably, and the pin-sharp 4:3 panel makes retro sprites look excellent. It runs Linux out of the box and takes to popular custom firmware like NextUI, muOS and Knulli, so tinkerers get plenty to play with. The headline draw remains that solid metal chassis, which sets it apart from the plastic standard Brick.
