Miyoo Flip V2

About the Miyoo Flip V2

The Miyoo Flip V2 is a folding clamshell retro handheld styled after the Game Boy Advance SP, but with a fuller control layout including four face buttons, four shoulder buttons and dual analog sticks. It runs a Rockchip RK3566 chip with 1GB of RAM and a 3.5-inch 640x480 IPS screen, powered by a 3000mAh battery good for roughly five to seven hours depending on what you emulate. It ships on Linux with Miyoo's own OS and is popular to load with community firmware such as CrossMix OS or MinUI, and two microSD slots keep your library and firmware separate.

The V2 is a refinement of the original Miyoo Flip rather than a new class of device. The headline change is the hinge, which swaps the original semi-plastic mechanism for a fully metal one that feels sturdier and smoother. The shell is more durable and fingerprint resistant, the screen is a touch brighter, and the joysticks and buttons are more responsive. The core internals carry over from the first Flip, so think of it as a build-quality and comfort upgrade rather than a leap in raw power.
